Ener-G Foods' Gluten-Free Hamburger Buns are the perfect solution for your burger cravings. With their exceptional texture, these buns can easily hold all your favorite toppings, making them an excellent choice for your next cookout or picnic.

Ener-G Foods is a family-owned business located in Seattle, Washington. Purchased by Sam M. Wylde, the founder of Sam Wylde Flour Co., in 1962, the company has evolved to become one of the largest producers of special diet foods in the United States.

The mission at Ener-G Foods is to provide a wide range of wholesome, nutritious, risk-free, and great-tasting ready-made foods and mixes for diet-restricted individuals. The company is constantly responding to the demand for special diets with research, innovative products, and convenience foods.

Since 1962, when Ener-G Foods first created low-protein products for renal pre-dialysis patients, the company has strived to meet the challenging requirements for diet-restricted consumers. In addition to wheat-free and gluten-free products, Ener-G Foods also offers products for low-protein diets, as well as egg-free and dairy-free options. The bakery is dedicated to wheat-free and gluten-free baking, ensuring that contamination from gluten will not occur. Ener-G's innovative packaging gives their products a 1-year shelf life without the need for refrigeration, and the products are baked fresh upon order to ensure the utmost freshness.

The history of Ener-G Foods is closely tied to the Wylde family. In 1887, Sam M. Wylde's grandfather started the first flourmill in Seattle, which was built to supply export flour to the Orient and the people of Washington State. After World War I, Sam M. Wylde's father and uncles joined the family business and learned the milling industry. Sam Wylde himself traveled the country and the world, working in various roles before returning to Seattle after World War II and becoming one of the founders of Brodie Restaurant and Hotel Supply.

When Sam Wylde's father took ill, he left Brodie to help run the family mill. After his father's passing, Sam Wylde's uncles decided to close the mill, leading him to start the Sam Wylde Flour Co. to distribute flour and bakery items to local bakeries. The company was later sold to Fisher Mills, Inc., who later sold it to a Dutch company, Puratos.

When Sam Wylde purchased Ener-G Foods in 1962, the company was a small two-person operation with all packing done by hand. Shortly after, Sam Wylde was approached by Dr. Scribner of the University of Washington, who was known as the "father of dialysis" and had invented the kidney machine. This led to Ener-G Foods developing a low-protein bread for dialysis patients, which eventually led to the company's expansion into gluten-free and other specialized products.

Ener-G Foods' commitment to providing high-quality, diet-friendly products continues to this day, with a focus on meeting the evolving needs of health-conscious consumers.
